True. But I remember back when I first joined RN, we'd occasionally have
someone join the mailing list not knowing about the Pen and Paper RPG, but
who'd played the SNES game. I specifically remember several of those, but
can't recall any who joined because of the Sega version.
As was said, it wasn't faithful to the game rules, and didn't cover
everything, but it covered a LOT and was pretty faithful to the world in
general. Plus, it was a LOT more fun and engaging storywise than the Sega
version.
I don't remember the Sega one handling Riggers either. And while it didn;t
really deal with the metaplanes, you did have to find a spirits true name to
defeat it in the SNES one, which I always found really cool.
Both games had their strong points, and I enjoyed both, but it's been my
experience that folks familiar with SR tended to like the Sega game, while
those who weren't as familiar liked the SNES version.
