There was a Street Sam Cat 2?? Was it renamed as something else or was it
named SSC2?

First off, Cat completely threw me. I thought you were talking about either
1) Some weird piece of equipment in a book I don't have or 2) One of the
Street Sams in our last game, who was named Cat.

Yes, there was a second edition version of the SSC

OTH, it introduced absolutely nothing new if you already had the first
edition, except that it gave second ed stats (which you could pull out of
the back of the BBB anyway).

oh, and it had a funky dark gray cover instead of a funky light gray cover.

Don't forget the two or three pages that had the huge "BANNED IN SHADOWRUN
SECOND EDITION" covering up stuff like extended clips.

You're forgetting the REALLY funky big black letters that totally obscured
the outdates 1st Ed things like Firepower Ammo.

That was reallly..... Stupid. Why not put something NEW on those pages?
What a waste of paper...

I agree that something *new* should have been put on those pages, but the
reason they left them like that was so all the page numbers matched up
between SSC and SSC2, and it didn't ruin all the page references they had..

Not all the stats. Certain things (Cyberguns) weren't properly
updated. Annoyingly enough, they STILL hadn't corrected the Panther
Cannon entry in the back (I think that lasted from the first SSC
through 2nd ed and the SSC2....I forget if FOF fixed it...

They didn't want owners of SSC have to buy a new one for SR2. Of
course there was one or two small rules additions that were in SSC
revised that wasn't in the back of SR2. I also hated flipping between SSC
and SR2 so I did end up buying SSCr anyway.

Potentially stupid question: What error with the Panther Assault Cannon?
(Never used one myself, so I wouldn't know if there was a problem with it or
not.)

They basically left a digit out of the cost. It was supposed to cost
"7,200 Y" but they left out the 7, leaving ",200 Y"...

btw, SR3 tidbit: no PAC! It's been replaced with the Vigorous Assault
Cannon. They sure like their Vs... :-)

According to my SSC (first printing, bought shortly before the debut of
SR2), it shows that price, sans typo, both in the product description and
the table at the back.

It is typoed in the back of BBB2, but it's printed right in SSC.

Maybe they will reintroduce the Panther at a later date since the Panther
Cannon held 2 more rounds of ammo, wieght 2 kgs less and had a hip brace.

1) If you need more than 20 rounds of ammo, get a belt (or another
clip - you'll have ample time to change it as the weapon is SS).
2) a 10% difference in weight isn't much when *you're carrying a
fragging CANNON*. Ahem. Sorry 'bout that.
3) hip brace? Why bother? It's only SS and you're not going to give
the thing to a weakling... Plus, it *is* 700Y cheaper (buy a shockpad,
bipod or tripod with the extra).

Not like I'm ever going to build a character with one of those monsters.
They just don't belong on most shadowruns. Now if you wanted to
overthrow a small carib government...

Nope. Errror carries from SSC1 all the way through FoF ... except
Shadowtech has the correct price ...

So we can't pack a PAC anymore? :) Maybe FASA just wants us to pack VACs
in case things get messy ...? :P

So what's the error, if it's not the one James is talking about?

*My* copy of SSC is showing the 7,200Y price. Am I missing something?
