The conversions have allready been done for you. They're in the back of the
SRII rulebook. Or, if you want to spend money, you can buy the SSC updated for
SRII.

In general though...

The third number in the power/damage/other system is Staging. This is the
number of successes you needed to stage the damage up or down. In SRII,
all damage has a Staging of 2.

To convert: Add the difference between the third number and 2 to the
power. For example, in SR I, a heavy pistol usually had a Damage Code of
5M3. 3 - 2 is 1. In SR II, a heavy pistol usually does 6M damage.

(This is useful for converting the critters in Paranormals of North
America, and older modules)

Actually, Heavy pistols in SRII generally do 9M, which is a lot
more whallop for your buck than a light pistol's 6L.
