Yes, the reply will now go to the list - *sigh*.
I meant to take it private - sorry fer the wasted bandwith anyone.
(Gezzz Rob whatya do up at this hour anyway :-)

Having just finished reading the 380 or so messages from the last week ( I
just got started in shaowtk and am gettin caught up...) a thought came to mind
from the decking and cartridge threads...

If someone was to have access to memory in the matrix (as opposed to their
decks) could they store their programs there and have quick access to them.
Hmmm... that's not too clear - here's an anology:
I have programs on the comuter I working at now, but I also have programs on
the server I mail from - Is the matrix like a server where a decker can store
programs and will those be easily accessible in the middle of a fight? (really
- this was much clearer before I started typing :-).

The Decker has to be connected to whatever node is acting as a server. However,
this is probably not done due to access time. If your attack utility is not
directly in memory (Active Memory, that is) then it will probably lag as your
deck access the node. ANY lag can be fatal in combat. . .though this might
be acceptable for things like browse and decrypt programs, or other utilities
that can usually be run with no time pressure.

Another reason it might not work is if cyberdecks can only be connected to
one node or systems at a time (which is kinda dumb and not the way things
work, but that's FASA for you).
