Well according to the StarWars Tech Journal Vol #2:
......easy to maintain form of laser/particle beam technology......
Blasters fire intense pulses of focused light, combined with packets
of accelerated high-energy particles. Blaster energy sources vary
from rechargable, miniaturized power cells to portable power
generators to energy spectrum converters......

I cannot find any of my other journals..Except the one for
StarTrek...So I can't show how the light saber works..at this
time..Although for those who really want to know I can look up the
formula for warp travel...
