Do Stepped Reflex Triggers increase the cost of wires or of standard
Reflex Triggers by 25%?

As I read it, Alfredo, it's an increase to the cost of the reflex trigger
itself, since it's a modification for the standard reflex trigger.

If that were so, then the cost would be a base cost, since 25% of
13,000 is pretty standard. No, I think it's 25% the cost of the wires
in addition to the reflex trigger, which is a rip off--it's just so
much easier to say that reflex triggers already have a built-in
steeper in them.

I gotta go with Angelkiller. 25% applies to the trigger price, not
the wires. It's the wording, it just makes more sense.

Actually, upon looking at the master list in M&M, I have to say, beyond a
shadow of a doubt, it's +25% added onto normal triggers. I think the
reason that they didn't say +3,250 is so that people buy Delta Reflex
Triggers and standard Stepped Reflex Trigger modifications. I think it
would have been better to give a fixed cost and state that the stepped
reflex triggers must match the cyberware grade of the trigger (and the
wires.). The listing as a percentage, however, implies that they can be
added in after the wires and reflex trigger.

Btw, is it just me, or does SR3 not seem to have anything stating that
reflex triggers can't be added in after the wires? :)

P. 301, it says, "the trigger cannot be retrofitted later." Cruddy,
I think.

Damn. I saw a description of the trigger in the Wired Reflexes
description and thought they'd left that out. Not that it matters to me,
I've always given reflex triggers to my players as a throw away. If they
bought the reflex trigger they got a stepped reflex trigger. (This was
way back in SR2, so the wording was different since "stepped reflex
triggers" didn't exist yet. :) To offset this, I implemented penalties
for people who had their wires on all the time based on the MBW
penalties. (there should be something in the logs somewhere. I'll have to
go looking for it.) This was only something to wave over the players'
heads so that they'd turn off the wires rather than "make" me check for
all that nasty stuff. :)
