SHUT UP about how crap some operating systems are, and how good others
are, okay? We've seen this about a million times before, and every
goddamned time it ended up absolutely nowhere except with a lot of pissed
of people.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the best operating system is
the one that does what you want it to do and allows you to run the progs
you want to use, whether it's Win95, Linux, OS/2, MacOS, or what the hell
ever. (And I will thwap anyone who is now going to say "Win95 doesn't do
what I want!" -- then install something else that does, and stop bothering
the rest of us with it).

This message, BTW, isn't aimed at George alone but at everyone who is
(thinking about) argueing about OS's.

WOAH, big guy! Calm thyself! It just happens to be an annoyance when a
company stops supporting it's older projects. No need to explode on my first
offense, I HAVE only been on the list for 5 days - without a FAQ until
yesterday...

Wasn't planning on arguing OSes, if I wanted that I'd read the message bases
on my BBS.

Not for you, no... For everyone who doesn't want to get into the debate
(or feel they are "my side" in it :) they're pretty safe.

Big guy? Where?

It's just that we've had OS discussions MUCH too often over the past year
or so, and the comment you made, even though you claim it wasn't intended
to argue about any OS, would have fit right in. Not to mention it could
very well spark off another such flam^H^H^H^H debate unless someone threw
a bucket of water over it -- which is what I decided to do.

Delivery of the FAQs leaves something to be desired (no offense, Fro :)

The big burly pure-chrome street psycho standing behind you, that's where! =)

Hear that. Now I've gotta towel off. How about a nice, healthy religion
debate instead? That should have you BEGGING for an OS thread.... =)

Not so much Delivery that's the problem, but that I had to feel my way into
the subscription through ShadowTK (Easy enough) 'cause the itribe.net links
are down, and I didn't know where else it would be.

I'll go you one better than that, Gurth. I will personally
ban anyone from the list who perpetuates this assinine thread
any more. I've been round and round on this old tired debate
more times than I care to remember, and I can't remember once
when a single useful thing came out of it.
