Specifically, this is Storyteller Magickkkkk using the Shadowrun rules.
Developed by Ivy K. Ryan
and Deird'Re Brooks (I'm the one who put the kkkk's in there. I'm
stealing her account. :-)= )

USING STORYTELLER MAGIC IN SHADOWRUN
This is a conversion designed to allow the use of
Storyteller's "Mage-the Ascencion" magic system in the Shadowrun
game. Because of the way Shadowrun works we have split-up each
level in Arete and Spheres into two levels. Comparing the two
means that a person with 3 levels in Life in this conversion
would have 1 dot in the Life sphere in Mage.
Magic-workers from Mage-the Ascencion don't have to buy
spells with Karma. Due to this overall advantage the ST type of
magic worker has generally higher Drain Targets and fewer dice
for their effect Tests. That's life in the 6th world.

What do you use for a Magic Dice Pool?
Nothing, you have none. You can use Quintessence to
get extra dice at a cost of One point per die. Quintessence
may also be spent to lower a Target Number at the rate of -1
to the TN per point spent.

What Skills are used to work magic?
None, workings are done using a number of dice equal to
the caster's Arete for co-incidental magic or the level of
the highest ranked sphere they use in the work for "vulgar"
magic.

What gives the Force of the work?
The Level the caster has in the highest ranking sphere
used for it.

What gives the Damage Level of the work?
The level one has in the damaging sphere.

What is the Drain of the work?
The Highest Sphere Rating needed for the work + 3. A
good, reasonable, explanation of the "co-incidence" involved
may lower the Drain by 1 or 2 at the Gamemaster's option.

What is the Target Number for the Success Test?
The target's Willpower, Body, Intelligence, or the
Object Resistance depending on the purpose of the work.

What is the Good Karma cost to improve Arete?
4 x New Level
What is the Good Karma cost to buy a sphere?
10 Karma

What is the Good Karma cost to improve a sphere?
Each Tradition's Speciality Sphere = 3 x New Level
Non-Tradition Sphere for Tradition Mage = 3.5 x New
Level (Round UP)
Any Sphere for an Orphan = 4 x New Level

What other dice may be used for a Test?
Dice from the character's Karma Pool may be used in any
number up to a maximum equal to the character's Arete.

What Damage does one get for each level in a sphere?
Sphere
Level Entropy Forces Life Other
1 None None None None
2 None Light Serious None
3 None Moderate Serious Light
4 Serious Serious Serious Moderate
5 Deadly Deadly Serious Serious

What do extra successes get you when you damage someone(thing)?
Each two net successes stages the damage up one level.
If the damage goes past Deadly this staging continues with
D+1, D+2, D+3, etc. To bring the damage back down each
stage over Deadly must be brought down before the Deadly,
Serious, etc levels may be staged down.

Is there any way to lower a TN other than spending Quintessence?
Take extra time to cast the spell. Normally this extra
time is one Complex Action and lowers the TN by One.

How do you start a new character with this type of magic?
You buy the ability to use this magic at all with your
'A' Priority. Then you buy your starting Arete and Spheres
from the Force Points that come with Resource Levels. A
Priority 'B' choice in Resources gets 400,000 and 35 Force
Points, for instance. These Force Points are then divided
however the player desires between their character's Arete
and their Spheres.

How do you get Nodes, Destiny, Arcane and Avatar Ratings for a
starting character?
You buy them with Force Points just like Arete and
Spheres.

Is there any way to get more Force Points?
It is possible that some Gamemasters will allow their
players to purchase Force Points for their characters from
the character's Resource nuYen. If so, 10,000 to 20,000
per Force Point ought to work.
