Am I the only person who did this already? I always kinda assumed (the plates
in the back of Seattle notwithstanding) that Knight-Errant sec armor would be
stylized to look like full plate armor, and Red Samurai would wear something
that looked a bit like a romanticized samurai armor... not enough to interfere
with movement, but enough to let everyone know what its supposed to be.

I assumed the same..I suppose it just needed stating.. :)
Although I must admit I never really thought about KE..But it makes
sense..perhaps something more akin to a Spanish knight in the vein of
Don Quixote' [sp]

Definitely not in the vein of Don Quixote... I was thinking more akin to
Maximillian, the tough-ass German armor...

Surely not Shirley. Been doing this sort of thing, either as a player or
allowing it as a GM (or having NPCs with it) for a few years now. Making
SR armor look like old knight or samurai armor seems to be a common thing
to do. So is the robotic/Battlemech style if you've got heavier armor and
sensor arrays and stuff.

I've personally "scultped" heavy armor to look like humanoid dragons; folks
also on TK will see that soon enough.

In some games I played in years ago, some of the elite "shadowrun" teams
had stylized armor, or at least a common color scheme. Basically, once
their rep got to a certain level, they were able to inspire an "intimidation
factor" based on their armor. ("Oh shit! The Dark Legacy!") etc...
Of course, that also ID'd the runners, but they were pretty good about
keeping identities secret, or fighting on the challangers.

The idea died down after awhile, and then flared up again after
Star Gate. :)
