What happened to the old senseware processers from the 1st edition version
of Man and Machine (can't remember the name, but my copy in pieces somewhere
in a box)?

Essentially, they cost 1 Essence (which only applied for taking cyberware
damage and getting replaced, taking up 1 essence slot when you roll a 1d6 on
the location tables).

If one of these things got hit, all your cybersenses stopped working because
there was no direct connection to the brain.

I am suggesting calling it a Senseware interpreter.

What it could do is convert cyber senses to a simsense format (obviously it
could never be used with full-X conversion).

This could be used with a protocol emulation module and simlink transmitter
to link to a drone network in place of a snake eyes package (assuming the
character had cybereyes at the very least).

It could also be a more essence expensive means of fitting a cyber camera,
but it would not be limited to the 1.2 essence that a eye socket can take.

The other possibility is to be able to recieve cybercam or drone sensor data
through a datajack and convert it to ASIST format that your brain can
interpret (sort of a glorified image link).

Somebody with natural thermographic vision would not need to have their eyes
modified to use a smartgun link.

Also, as it would provide a direct brain interface, it would reduce the cost
of the following implants by 0.1 Essence (assuming you don't mind the
possibility of ALL of your cyberware, except bone lacing, going down if it
takes a cyberware damage result):

* Datajack
* Chipjack
* Multislot chipjack (only once)
* Softlink
* Skillwires
* Router (essentially only costing the 0.01 for the actual connections
themselves)
* DNI interface (because it doesn't require additional neuron connections)
* Independent cybereyes
* Memory (essentially giving you 30 MP for free)
* Smartlink processor
* Tactical computer
* Move-by-wire
* Rigger ware (protocol emulation module, RC deck, encryption, etc)

Note that the essence reduction only applies to independent cybereyes,
because you already have a natural "brain connection" when you undergo
standard cybereye replacement. It only applies to move by wire and not
wired or boosted reflexes for the same reason.

<@^@> put "Hey Robert!" (without quotes) in the subject line to bypass my
junk mail filter and do not mention any sort of word associated with
commercial transactions.
