Alright, thank everybody for their suggestions BUT .... inspite of a few people
cutting criticisms I think the Ritual Spell is still a perfectly valid spell.
The Duration is now sustained, but otherwise I think that its very legitamate
drawbacks (Tough Drain, temporary nature, limited use) are good safeguards. I
have recieved ALOT of mail from people who liked the spell. I think the
disposition of this spell should be decided on practice in a game, and numbers
of supporters --- not on the vocalness of its detractors.
As for the totems, I gladly accept Nightstalkers advice -- it is quite sound.


A note to you Nightstalker - you have been rather harsh, nay, even viperous on
your critiques lately. William got a sharp stab ("Third Rate Decker") as did I
and Tyger. I think that you should be as magnanimous is criticism as in praise.
Don't burn someones character/idea/creation as if you were The Final Arbiter
himself. Take it easy. Noone, especially newbies, like being crushed by an
Elder player -- and as an experienced player you should no better.

KHANx, while I'm sure you like your spell, I'm disappointed that you haven't
answered my criticism directly. You merely waved them away by saying that ALOT
of people liked the spell. I do not expect or even want you to accept my
assertions due to their vocalness, but due to their logic. I have no idea
whether you have a logical reason for this spell to exist because you have
failed to answer even one of my problems with my spell. This leads me to think
that you are unable to do so. I ask you to please answer some of my misgivings
about your Ritual Circle spell.

As for the totems, I'm glad you liked my advice. However what spirits are you
going to give them bonuses at conjuring? I commented on that for Tiger but
forgot to for Ghrypon. Don't bother to answer if your going to post a modified
version.

The tone of my critiques tends to match my distaste for an idea. Unfortanately
I get rather acidic when and idea gets to be IMHO rediculous, abusive, or just
plain bad. I always have a straight forward reason and articulate them so that
you and everyone else can see my problem with the idea. If it just makes me
itchy, but I can't figure out why than I say nothing. My critiques for Tyger
and yourself were direct and detailed. I expected a response and got
stonewalled. As for William ("I didn't call him a Third Rate Decker"), I voiced
a serious misgiving I had about his character idea. My comments had merit.

BTW, don't call me an Elder player, call me an veteran list-poster :)

Too true. Of course, now I have to lure Lady Jestyr into a
game....Muahahahaaha! Um er...I'm gonna get another BAD Pink!! thwack
for that one, I think...
Actually, I'm thinking that my next game will be a one shot based off
of the video for the Roackafellar Skank by Fat Boy Slim (If you've seen
any of my other games, you'd understand, gentle reader, that this is NOT
the weirdest idea I've come up with). I figure that this way, at least,
everyone will have seen the darn thing.
I figured I'd cut down mail traffic by combining my post to Jett in
this as well - good point, she DID help hold him down. And really, none
of you want to know. Trust us.
