As for the adept angle, it's still all the same. The only thing is that
the improved ability (skill) would cost 0.25 per level, same as
athletics or stealth.

As for the smart materials myself...well, I'm a bit rusty on the rules,
but I'd expect that if there WOULD be a problem along the lines that
you're talking, there would probably be some kind of gel or the like
on/in the surface of the board, or in the snowboarder's boots, which
would take up the strain. In other words, there'd be a way around it
IMO. Maybe the board itself is reactive, with the bottom curving to
handle sharp turns and the like, while the top stayed more level, to
make things easier on the rider.

Maybe you could give the board a sensor rating too. Anything with level
1 sensors or above (double or triple cost - or even more - for the
miniaturisation required) would have some kind of collision detection
system which would warn the rider when a sharp turn is coming up, or
rocks, or something like that.

Autonav for snowboards?

Armour? Naah.

Vectored-thrust snow/surf/skate/sky(?)boards?
