Surfing on an inflatable emergency raft being dropped from an aircraft is
much cooler :)
I'll explain this a bit, for those (like all of you :) who weren't
there... During one adventure, run by one of my players, we were in a
cargo aircraft and he was trying his best to get us to bail out: SAMs,
AAA, characters almost falling out when the plane pulls up hard, etc. We
tried to hang onto it as long as we could, but eventually decided to jump.
So, I ask if there's an emergency raft -- we'd been flying across the
ocean for hours so there's bound to be one. There was. (With all the
trouble the GM was going through to get our asses out of the plane, I
didn't want him to try and separate us in the jungle below, so I figured
we'd need a way to jump down as far as possible together. Trouble was, no
one of our characters had any parachute skills at all.) We all got in,
strapped our parachute harnasses to the raft, and pushed it out of the
back of the plane. Everybody was hanging on for dear life, not liking it
at all, when I got up out of my seat and took up a surfing pose. It caused
a good laugh, and earned me an extra Karma point for being entertaining in
character, too :)
