Ok. If everyone had to choose what Shadowrun image they wanted for a
tshirt, what would you choose? Cover of your fave sourcebook, novel or what?

Replies can go either direct to me, or on list, but if you are replying on
list, please do not trim anyone's suggestions, but *do* trim out anything
unneccessary. Please leave in what I have written here. ;)

<K puts down his piece of paper, closes his email...and thinks>

Honestly...a series of shirts, perhaps a new one every year or so, with the
shirt being the "theme" of SR for that year (as it can be). For instance,
the upcoming "Year of the Comet" stuff. Have a samurai type with an assault
rifle held end-up, and in the background have a comet streaking at an angle
(his own form silhouetting the comets' tail). A statement like "..ready for
whatever comes down..." somewhere in chrome-flash Arial Font.

Hmm. Good question. I take it we are getting a LOOOONG headstart on next
years shirt? (Which may well be a good idea) I'd have to vote for either a
home brew piece of art to go with a slogan of "Shadowrun: Its not a Job, its
an ADVENTURE". Or, if you in fact INSIST on a more recognizable comercial
piece, I'd have to vote for the "Mr. J... And Friends" Picture in the color
plates between Pg 176-177 in BBB3

I think I know why she posted it, and it's not for next years T-Shirt.

I could be wrong, but this may have something to do with something Mike
Mulvhill said at one of the Shadowrun Seminars. They are now licensed with
2 different T-Shirt companies, and are looking for ideas for pieces of
Artwork and stuff that people would be interested in buying.

As for using "recognizable" artwork for our List TShirt. We can't. Unless
we're interested in paying one of the artists a LOT of money, or one of
them steps forward and is nice enough to offer to let us use a piece for
free. And considering the way we do the shirts, it's not feasable to pay
for artwork.

Plus, being a ShadowRN List T-Shirt, they would also probably need to be a
member of the list, or it defeats the purpose, kinda sorta :]

However, to be honest, it may not be a bad idea to start kicking around
ideas for next years Shirts now... :]

I would have to go for a chromed Shadowrun 'S', big enough to fill the
front of the shirt. I don't like complicated images on my clothing :-)

I don't have my SR2 book handy, but any of Bradstreet's art would be great,
like the picture at the begining of the combat rules chapter that shows a
bunch of runners (with many GUNS) leaning aginst a van during the calm
before a firefight...

Can we hold another art contest?

We did that one year and people posted possible t-shirt designs on their
webpages. I'd love to draw another one!

Starting early, I see.... <g>

The cover to HARLEQUIN. The cover to PORTFOLIO OF A DRAGON.

I know that PoaD was/is one of the considerations. Anyone got anything
better though? I mean, sure, the image is cool, but isn't there something
else?

AH. As a commercial T shirt done by Fasa? Like I said, the "Mr J, and
Friends" from SR3 (Located in the color prints between pgs 176&177) with the
logo "Shadowrun: Its not just a game, its a Lifestyle"

I like that. With what I envision of your description (kinda cinematic like)
it'd make a good shirt.

however

I've got a couple of odd thoughts

1) The first is a less than serious idea, but I'll toss it out here just to
get it outta my head;
a group of runners that look like they've been in a fight, all banged up,
bandaged, with perhaps one or two using crutches. The quote : "It's good to
be the GM" or "When the GM smiles, it's too late"

2) The other one is of a less tongue-in-cheek idea;
something of a cross between the of Corporate Download, and the old
Dreamchipper covers (well perhaps also the Western Dragon Boxed miniature
cover from Ral-Partha as also). A dragon flanked by some corporate goons
toting guns. Perhaps with a large window behind them showing the City of
Seattle at night. The Quote (if any) being the classic "Never Deal With a
Dragon"

That's all I can think of for now...

Someone might have something better, but not much that would be a better
seller to this particular T-shirt buyer.

"An insect shaman holds her mantid spirits at bay" by Dell Harris, in the
color section of the Grimoire II, would be my choice.

I HAVE to agree here... infact... i will put my order down now.. and
my Visa number... the Mr. J... and friends pic is brilliant.. and
belongs on the backs of the fans.

As to what Bull is suggesting... I hope they get out to .au under the

Ooooo, how about a close-up on looking straight down a smoking gun pointed at
you, the hand just visible disappearing into the shadows. Underneath it:

Sadly, it because of this last statement that *this* idea wouldn't be

What is the, I guess, "allowed" art? I have a set (minus 5 @#$% cards!) of the
SR Trading Card game and there's a lot of good art there. For the t-shirt ideas,
is it only art that has appeared in the sourcebooks or any art that FASA has had
done that is related to Shadowrun? Do novel covers count? Personally, I have
very few sourcebooks and have never seen a novel, but just giving ideas to other
people.

BTW, I finally got to take a quick peek at the SR3 sourcebook, so I know the what
the Mr. Johnson and friends picture looks like now. XXL in black sounds good to
me, too. :-7

I want you to know I didn't take *too* seriously myself. It was meant more
as a comment on the overall, IMO, sad state of affairs and paranoid
