Run away! Run away! *grin*

I can remember at least a few threads concerning this particular subject,
and IIRC all of them got bogged down in too complex (house) rules or
interpretations of (house) rules when trying to find a definitive rule
that applies to _all_ sustained DMs, and area-effect sustained DMs are
even worse inthis respect. The best advice I can give you for these kinds
of spells is to look at them on a case-by-case basis, preferably when you
design them (if you make one youself), and otherwise when a PC or
important NPC gets one.

(Damion, are you around ATM? :)
