What if there was a deck where two deckers could work as one. both deckers
jack into the deck and can co-ordinate their efforts. (sounds kinda neat to
me.)

please help me with this.

More like they'd get in each other's ways. "Too many cooks" and all
that. There's a lot of instinct involved in decking successfully (cf,
why you don't get a Hacking Pool with chipped computer skills), and it's
pretty much impossible that you'll find two people with the *exact* same
instinctive reactions to all situations. Without that the deck would
just get confused by the conflicting inputs and they'd get nowhere
really fast.

Ah, the old double-decker scenario... doesn't work. You keep
getting a "bus error".

But what if each deckers had very well defined tasks, like one handles
the defensive part, while the other drives the offensive one. Or many
other possible combination possible. And with a single deck, the Load(if
you use that ^%$%$$) is very possibly lower than 2 deckers with 2 decks.
I would need a lot of work, maybe even a special skill to act in synch,
but my guess is its possible, if a little weird!

You can't "turn off" instinctive reactions and learned reflexes.

If you can have two people in an advanced jet fighter, one as the pilot and
one as the electronic warfare officer (I'm thinking of Weasels in
particular, but can't remember the exact terminology :( then I think it
possible for two deckers to work together off of a single (special design)
deck. But, like Rat says, I don't think your regular deckers would be able
to do it very well. They would probably have to be specialy trained to use
that deck as a team, or spend a considerable amount of time learning by
trial and error (without getting killed in the process ;)

Wasn't there information on combining two decks in NAGEE or NERPS?

Another pun on bus...stop! How do I transfer off this thread?
Originality...that's the ticket. Which line is that double decker on? Do
you have the right driver?

On the lighter side, I don't think it's an unworkable idea. I mean if you
can play doubles tennis or even doubles racket ball, doubles decking should
be in the realm.

Oh, come on....it was funny.... It wouldn't have been funny if it didn't
fit with the conversation, but that was funny...and I don't even like
puns....

It would have been funnier if it hadn't gone over my head the first time...

It went over my head the first time too..... :P

I like your .sig, though.....

Hmmmm....I've posted almost as many messages today as gurth has....
Unfortunately, none of them were really related to shadowrun....

Well, let me try one... How are buildings in the 2050's powered?
With all the security and such, wouldn't it be a good idea to cut
the power on a corp building that you were about to enter? It would
cut out all the srcurity cameras and such, and make it much harder
to see.... Except, of course, then the security guards would know
you were coming, but there might be interesing ways to get around
that....

Yeah, but the way you do it is to have two seperate decks... imagine
doubles tennis with one racquet between the two people. :)

Yea but I still don't get it. Maybe its cuz I don't have a Geek Code or
maybe its cuz I hate puns too (denial I suppose).

I imagine they are powered like today, but I'm sure they have backups like
massive generators.

Maybe with a Special Skill: Double Decking? And even then force them to
take a concentration in double decking with one specific other person...?
