Someone was asking about a target aquisition/ fire system with
smartguns/tac-comp and ir vision...

First.
get a datajack, and then get an interfacable camera. (little
realtime video one, about the size of a pack of cigarettes). wire
into the camera, and overlay its sensory feed in your eye. feed
this info to the smartgun.
SECOND
target aquisition. the tac-comp, working with the camera
data. (use more that one so it can triangluate) can now target
each and run threat assesments. target priority linked to the
smartgun. fire arcs and line of sight calculated from varying
fire positions.

Turn the wall INVISABLE and fire through it with your laser!!
(only joking!!hahahaaha)

THIRD>
jump out...the computer locks you onto the targets and BLAM!!
You fire at skill+combat pool+anymodifiers etc

The MILITARY version for heavy armour are 'Rabbit Ears' , little
sensors on stalks fitted behind the ears...when upright they are
about 1' over the head, allowing targeting over/ through cover.

Idea..
can you run a Knowledge chip via a smartlink? guns could have
'<gun name>care and maintenance=6' wired in... or even
Firearms-specialise <weapon name> .

That doesnt sound too bad actually :-) the laser is light, and light passes
through invisible objects, so why not?

I would tend to think not. The smartgun only transfers targetting info to
the users eye, not skillsoft info to the users skillwire. Though if you had
a chipjack in your palm...

I say that the way invisibility spells, etal, that aren't Mental in nature
use very tricky refraction effects. That's why they can still be spotted,
if you look at them right. These refraction effects would break up any
focus on your laser, and probably the coherence as well.
