Ok, gang, I need some help. What kind of terrorism exists in the SR
world? Today, we have the PLO and the IRA, but what groups like that
exist is SR? And what would their motivations be? I need to have a
cruise ship hijacked, and I want to know what terrorist group might do
something like that, and what would their demands be? And to whom
would they make these demands? Is the UCAS still considered a world
power?

First, who owns the ship and who are the major passengers on the ship?
The answers to those two questions should provide a good deal of insight
into who would want to hijack the ship. If no appropriate terrorist group
exists, make one up.
However, in the SR world, there are many, many, many terrorist groups.
Humanis and Alamos 20,000 come to mind, as well as a number of violent
meta-human groups, there are a number of small groups in Tir na nOg,
various eco-terrorist groups, anti-corporate types, anti-government and,
if you want to be nasty, you could use corp or government black-ops teams
masquerading as terrorists. For example, a major player from corp X is
travelling incognito on the ship. A black-ops team from a rival corp Y
takes over the ship, masquerading as a group of eco-terrorists protesting
the toxic pollution of corp X, and demands that corp halt their practices
or they kill their hostage.

Well, let's see: there's Alamos 20K (is the Hand of Five the same
thing?), Greenwar... basically, go to town and create your own. Think of
a cause - any cause- in the SR world, and odds are there'll be a
terrorist group fighting for it.

As for their demands - they'd make them to the power most diretly
affected. If they held an Ares liner hostage, they'd probably make their
demands to Ares - I don't know that the Governments would be as
important in that scenario. If nothing else, the corp most responsible
for the liner would want the government to back off, so it could handle
the rescue its own way.

Just my 0.02=Y=, of course.

A 20K, Humanis, Knights of the Red Branch (Anti-Nog Irish humans), La Ven=
ta (Anti-Aztlan "Mexicans"), Quebec
Unite (join back up with the UCAS), Any number of Ecoterrorist or Anti-Co=
rp groups. Or hell, just make one
up. SR doesn't cover the Mid-East much. I'm sure there is still alot of =
political dissent there. Above all,
