Next time, read the FAQ.
There's no need to sent tests to the list. You can send queries to the
listserver, which will also tell you what all your settings are on the list.

Gee, next time I'll read it twice.

And don't tell me what I want to know. Thanks ever so much for responding,
though.

It does tell you what you want to know.
If you're subscribed to the list, it lists your settings.
Amongst those settings are such things as:

REPRO/NOREPRO

Repro means that a reproduction of your e-mails sent to the list will be
sent to you. Norepro means they won't.

ACK/ NOACK. Similar to repro, but the list just sends an acknowledgment.

and

MAIL/NOMAIL

Used for when you're leaving your computer for a while, temporarily stops
mail from being sent to you.

If you aren't subscribed to the list, it TELLS you that you aren't.
But then, you'd know this if you'd READ THE FAQ, wouldn't you?

Just a quick question from a newbie, how do I get the FAQ? I did not see
anything listed in the initial mail.

It was pointed to in an earlier message, but to tell you the truth, I've not
seen it myself in a while. It *should* be posted to the list at semi-regular
intervals.

Someone did put a URL for the FAQ in one of the earlier messages today though.
And I imagine it's in a few peoples .sigs....

Dvixen chopped the FAQ up into a whole pile of tiny pieces for her web
page, and it's not really suitable for posting anymore.
http://www.coastnet.com/~dvixen

I post a mini-FAQ every couple of weeks when I remember.

Except all these situations to change soon.

This is a test message to the new and improved ShadowRN on lists.html.com.
Adam, please let me know if you get this message so I can verify that all
is well. I'm sending you a private message as well with the detail on how
to get to the administrative features of the software.

Got it -- I guess the DNS hasn't propogated yet, so I have to use the IP,
which, for anyone elses reference, is 206.246.237.2

My account seems to be bouncing msgs from the list so unless you can do
anything about that you can safely ignore this message.

Oh good, so you haven't all been dragged off or
incarcerated by the FBI yet ;)(In Re: past discussions
about domestic terrorism leading up to todays current
situation), although 1 navy boy on list by sounds 0f
It h's been dragged off to Iraq, hard luck old mate;
but I guess I shouldn't consider myself too lucky, as
by the time I'm In & finished my medical training
they'll have me ready to churn out for
Korea...(M.A.S.H theme song & grandma tellin' me 'bout
Grandad receiving an American citation & his service
In WWII & Korea spring to mind)
