The idea that in the future shadowrun genre will no longer exist isn't exactly
true. A setting such a babylon 5 for shadowrun or any other future would be
interesting, and coperations will definatley till exist.
A game univers like that found in alien, aliens and alien 3 would be an ideal
setting for 23rd century shadowrunners.

The illustrious Marc A. Renouf has already done that....we've been
playing for about four years...no orks, dwarves, elves, or trolls. Just
humans and the other aliens....a very cool campaign.

Not that I'm trying to shoot down this idea (time/dimension travel has
always been one of the things I'd like to do if it were possible :) but
that would mean that 99 out of a 100 times you'd end up in a world
that is _exactly_ like the one you left, except for one small matter that
doesn't affect the world. Like whether someone decided to watch TV show A
instead of TV show B one night, or whether he should drink coffee or tea
with his lunch...

Hey now Gurth...if the choice of shows was between Babylon 5 and Blossom
then it COULD be an earth shattering decision. =)

Ahhhh, but this is only one possibility. A LOT of worlds will reflect this
one, very closely, but if you think about it, the VAST majority will be
significantly different.

Remember, the further back in time you go, the more significant small
changes might become, and the more changes occur.

(If you think of it from a geological standpoint, an almost infinite number
of alternate earths will have no life, because the chances of that little
chemical reaction of occurring was so infinitesimally small. All the rest
would have life in some form. Some might have had life, but it died off
again.....)

I like to think of it as a tree. All the closer branches are almost
identical to this earth, but the further back in time the branch occurred,
the further away it is from our timeline, and the bigger the differences
will be. Next door, a leaf might have fallen in a different place, while on
the other side of the tree the earth didn't even form.... Or even the sun
for that matter....)

Of course you do. In a reality just around the corner :)

...like Gurt did not write this mail ...

Sorry, I know this might start a really idiotic threat, but I just
couldn't resist ...

I would hope not...I don't think that even the actors that were in Blossom
watch it.

What are they? MORONS?

Don't they see a big success when it bites them on the ankle?

Well.... Season 4 starts on channel 4 over here this month, so NO SPOILERS!

(And to make things even better, JMS has confirmed that season 5 WILL be
made..... And channel 4 has the option for that as well....)

I don't know about that, Spike. Babylon 5 was picked up by the TNT
network, one of Ted Turner's outfits. If he does release it to
syndication, he'll probably charge out the ass for it. Few channels
will be willing to his terms, IMHO.

I hate him almost as much as Bill Gates.
But at least I get to finally see Babylon 5 now... :)
