Well... Books 4 and especially 5 were not exactly up to the standard of
the first three. I wouldn't call reading them a total waste of time, but
well-spent time is something else as well. All IMHO, of course...

I originally took "Mostly Harmless" as one big 'don't ask me to
write more books about it' message. Recently I've read Douglas Adams
saying that he wrote that one at a bad time in his life. He also
mentioned writing another one in a more upbeat mode again. It would be
nice if he could.

To try to drag this thread back onto an SR topic, the line in one of the
books where Arthur is learning to fly.
(No, I don;t remember which one. It was some time ago.)
Anyway, the line about how learning to fly and missing the planet, or
forgetting to hit the ground, however it is written is what I did to the
shaman on my team when he wanted to learn a flight spell.

His old coyote shaman/sensei told him that little bit of wisdom, and the
player, not having read the books, and not remembering that coyote is THE
trickster supreme, went to the top of their two story warhouse and jumped
off.
SEVERAL TIMES! :-)

And much fun was had by the evil GM!!!
