Did I read my nick? :)

It was set up in 1992 I believe, however since I wasn't on the internet
back then I don't know for certain. I think it's somewhere in the FAQ,
though, from the reference to thwaps it can be deduced when the list was
operational; it must obviously have started before that time, and after
1989 (since that's when the game Shadowrun came out).

No idea. It's been hovering around 200 to 250 for a few years now, though.

Rob was Fearless Leader until Mark took over, IIRC (I don't know when
that happened, though; it wasn't announced on the list I think); JD was
Assistant Fearless Leader up until he didn't have time anymore and Fro
took over. Before JD, it was Doctor Doom who held that post.

Could be... I'm not the oldest in the sense of highest age, since I'm
only approaching 23 (depending on who you talk to, that's old though :) I
think Terry is the oldest listmember, he is somewhere around 50 I believe.

No idea again. As Spike indicates, he's been subscribed for 2 years; I
myself have been on this list since February 1994 IIRC, with an absense
from June to October or so that year. I can't remember many people from
back then, but Paolo Marcucci and Mark Imbriaco (the Fearless Leader) come
to mind; Granite was also on it back then, but he's been away for quite
some time until he resubbed last year.

OTOH some people stay only a few weeks, it seems. What I've noticed is
that many new members post a few times when they've just subscribed, and
then go quiet. Whether they decide the list isn't worth their time and
unsubscribe, or if they feel they have nothing to say but do read the
posts I don't know, though.

An address at home and one at work, maybe?

Let's put it this way: you wouldn't be the first. Not that it happens
every day, or even every month, but over the years at least about 10
people have left us this way. Just about all of them because the rest of
the list thought they were offensive in some way.

I think there are a lot of lurkers who just don't have something to say about
*every* topic that is discussed. It takes enough time to just read the
posts. Writing responses to most of them would be even worse. :)

I would have to agree here..I know that [years ago] when I first
started..I thought I had to read -every- messages that came across my
modem..And that took tons of time..Fortunately..I know better
now..and barely even read 1/3 of the mail that comes across..[this is
where a good subject line comes into play]..and I
reply to a much smaller fraction of those...So I can imagine there
are a few lurkers out there....
