Didn't say more deadly than a combat axe. I said that it would be
deadly, though. I mean, if THROWING knives have a damage code of STR, I
think that with the momentum of the swing, an axe would have a bit
better than Str-1 as a damage code. I think also that the combat axe,
Teeg, is undercoded. I could see a combat axe being a bit harder to hit
someone with, but doing at least Str+2.

Why not make the Wood Axe (henh- henh ... he said "Wood"!) [Str]S but -1
reaction (ie, if your Init score is 7, an attack with a wooden axe takes
effect on phase 6 [but if you decided to kick, it'd be on phase 7]. of,
course, you don't loose your original init score ...)

That sounds a little more agreeable to me. Or STR+1 for wood axe, Str+2
for regular axe, but a +2 to hit your opponent. Remember, a lot of
momentum can go into a good swing, expecially with the weight of the axe
head.
