I'm reading through the local paper today, and once again a little bit of
Cyberpunk/Shadowrun becomes a reality...

I don;t have the article anymore (I knew I should have cut it out), so this
is from memory, but this is the gist of it:

A research facility in Baltimore is on the verge of creating a functinal
cybereye. At present, they have testing on human subjects planne for 2
years from now, provided that their current research goes according to plan.

Right now the eye is very rudimentary. it'll provide low resolution B&W
images, and it hooks up to the optical nerves in the eye socket, providing
the images directly to the brain. It's being designed, of course, for
blind people, so even a low res B&W image is a definate step up...:]

Yup, saw that on Discovery channel some two weeks ago, but it
also included cyber ears and legs. And it included bio chip link.
Neat aye?
