:It is quite possible that Computers have figured out a way to use the
:energy from humans to create light sources to grow food for the
:batteries. Remembering that computers see us as though we move as
:fast as rocks, and in the last 100 years our advancements have been
:incredible. Imagine what they could have done.
According to the laws of thermodynamics, they could NOT produce enough
food to feed the humans using only the energy the humans produce. It simply
can not be done, regardless of technical refinement. No free lunch, no
perpetual motion machine. Producing food always requires more energy than
the food consumer can output, jusy as charging a battery always requires
more enrgy than the battery can produce.
:The thing that annoyed me a little is that the computers havent
:figured out a way to clear the sky in 200 years, and they havent
:launched any computers into the sky to collect solar energy and send
:it back. All possible for my way of thinking.
That's been my point all along- not only does the matrix serve no point
(enrgy production wise), but the AI's obviously had other, easier, WORKABLE,
non-human using energy producing alternatives they could have constructed;
given the effort that went into keeping the Neo-Cell "batteries" hooked up
in there huge cites of techno-pods, they could easily have constructed some
other system, or more effeciently utilized the energy they did have.
Persoanlly, I expect that the matrix is a human constructed project gone
wrong, and that the machines are still acting on some perverted version of
thier original programming. I mean, given that its energy producing
potential is actually an energy drain, who but (some of) the humans has
anything to gain from the matrix, unless the robots actually "enjoy" keeping
the Neo-Cells around?
But I suppose the idea that humans would construct a system
technological control that enslaves the many for the benefit of the few and
severs all ties to the natural world (or simply provides them the
opportunity to feel superior to the masses, despite the fact that it is an
illusion) is unlikely compared to the evolution of hyper intelligent machine
consciousness that can't understand the laws of thermodynamics. {^_~}
