For those of you who managed to pick up a copy at Gencon, what's your
general feeling on it? I'm listening to it at the moment, and I reckon
it's not too bad at all. It sounds a lot like some of Vangelis' stuff to
me.
I don't know whether I would use it in the background of a game,
but it's not bad ambient music :)

cheers

Unfortunately guys, I can't see me getting out of Canberra for a few
weeks. The budget's pretty tight for quite a while yet while we catch up
after my trip to the USA.

Sorry about that.

Geoff (who forgot he may have possibly the only copy in Australia at the
moment)

Just for Tim,
A guy named Alex Cremers has recorded an audio CD of mood music
that is suitable for Shadowrun. It's got the dragon S logo on the front
and all. I picked up a copy at Gencon. It's not too bad at all, but I
don't know if I would play it during a game. Writing SR stuff probably,
gaming no.
It sounds like Vangelis, especially if you cross the Bladerunner
soundtrack with the 1492 soundtrack.
The same guy also has done music CD for Vampire: the Masquerade
and Call of Cthulhu.

cheers
Geoff

A CD put out by a Belgian mob; full of 'background music'. I've heard some
of the tracks and, while it's not bad, it's a bit bland and ho-hum.

According to Geoff Skellams, at 14:36 on 18 Aug 99, the word on
the street was...

I have much the same opinion about the CD -- it sounds okay when
just listening to it (although I don't have it on ATM), certainly not the
techno sound as which somebody described it to me at GenCon. How good it
will work in a game, I don't know; I think I'll take it along next game
session, and we'll see about that then I guess.

Mixed Opinions myself, as I also picked up a copy of it. I wouldn't mind
seeing Alex doing another one, but with a bit more "heavy rhythm" involved,
perhaps one or two tracks in an "action" based effect....

honestly i was disapointed their was no real Troll or Ork music on the CD,
yes their was music that might be theirs if they were clans out in the
woods, but to me I dont know but Troll ganger music is heavy and hard and
loud their was nothing on the CD like this. I would have to say in my
opinion for what it was supposed to do pick up a bach or bethoven cd for 5
bucks instead.
