Just a little comment.. not a flame!!!! but the person who made the
SR timeline on itribe.net MUST have been an American.. :P There is no
way in hell Canadians would do

On October 3, at local dawn, a perfect time-on-target salvo
of Cataphract wire-guided missiles hit the Kahnawake
fortification. Mechanized army, an armored platoon, and several
air cav units move in. The fighting is over by noon and the
Sovereign Mohawk Nation is wiped out.

The Dene indian tribe of Canada is violently forced off its tribal
land to make room for natural gas pipelines.

We have a history of peaceful resolution, unlike the US. We've even
had a situation where there was a situation like that, but not as
intense. It was called Oka... and tho the army was called in it was
resolved peacefully... *shrug* I'm bored and rantin.. bye :P
(GIMMIE your thoughts on this.. especially all you other Canadians..
*crosses fingers* At least.. i assume I'm not the only one..)

*wave*

<snip SR history stuff>
This part didn't just come from the list at itribe, this is from FASA in
the official timeline, so I suppose it was an American who wrote it.

I think it is assumed that in the future the governments lose a lot of
control and the megacorps take up the reigns, steering things the way
they want them to go.
The corporations of the SR future wanted the resource rich property and
the natives happened to have it, so they took whatever steps necessary
to get it, even if that meant violence. I think it is important to
remember that SR history is fiction, and that the future is always
uncertain.

Just my two cents :)

Rejoice, for you are not the only Canadian on the list. In fact, Im
from Quebec!

As for how FASA depicts us, residents of Quebec, there is NO DOUBT they
never visited of took the time to actually gather information on us. The
books make us look like idiots who'll shoot someone if he does't speak
french and like ravagers of the land who do not give a s**t about the
environment!

To me, it looks like they, FASA, took what little information trickled
down to them, the debates obout sovereignty and french language. Not
having anything else to go on, they made those our most visible
attributes, militantist of the worst kind IMHO.

Anyway, although we play in Denver in my game, Quebec IS NOT as
depicted in the FASA books!

Watch out. You'll get flamed for comments like that. It tends to upset
people when they are called idiots.
