Here is an interesting thought. What would the penalty be in
the Tir for being an Insect Shaman? The Elves seem to know
about the risk but are keeping it to themselves. I figure the
big D and H know about it, so too should Eran. I figure that
this would definatly hold the death penalty, and the destruction
of the hive, maybe with the capture and binding of any spirits
found, afterall banishing tham just lets them come back, unless
their mages have found a way to completley destroy a spirit.

Just a few thought for your purusal

I think the Tir makes a habit of hunting Invae and their shamans and
toxics and other threats. The UB was severly prevented from setting up
chapter houses in the Tir. As for destroying spirits, you can completely
destroy one by going on an astral quest. Of course, there are millions,
billions, who knows how many insect spirits there are. So of the
paladins are probablely used to hunt the threats.

There is a way to completely destroy a spirit: it involves an astral
quest to his meta-plane (gulp). I think that the elfies keep the
whole stuff secret because:
1. It's embarrasing to admit having these bugs (bad for tourists).
2. The shaman doesn't get a trail. Or one in the line of "You're
under arrest. Your have the right to remain silent, and we will make
sure that you remain silent" Blam, Blam
Not giving a fair trail to anyone will surely provoke some protest
from human right groups and, more importantly, foreign governments
("See Tir nan n'Og is a dictatorship")

BTW I frankly doubt that any insect (or toxic) shaman gets a fair
trail.

If the Paladins wanted to be really sadistic they could do what all little
children do and pull the arms and legs of the insect (if you glue them back
on you can pull them back off *grin, smirk, cackle, dibble*) Personally, I hate
what the bug men do and, if I hadn't committed my character to recruiting for
the 6/66th (Merc) in the Yucatan Peninsula, in Seattle, I'd be using all my
ability to kill as many as possible (from far away of course, getting close
could be risky).

You are not a citizen in Tir, you are a subject. If you were a insect
shaman they would just kill and be done with it. No one can do shit
about it, and most would understand as it is.

I get the impression that Jack was talking about Tir Tairngire, and
tourist traffic around there isn't that much anyway. As I recall reading
in some sourcebook or other (sorry, no quotes...) visiting the Tir is a
priviledge, not a right.

PS. Sorry for the crummy-excessively long and distasteful sig guys, I'm
experimenting. Will be promptly removed!
