Just to clarify, I was referring (and this is how we've played the joke here
in the home games with regards to the Will and claiming attempts), is that
the item does NOT have to bonded (as that requires a magical character) and
it is something that does NOT have to have a magical entity/force/site
sustaining it's energies. Sure, it can be made by a magical character, but
it must be able to be used, hot off the shelf, over and over again, by anyone
that picks it up and wants to do so.
The original rules for Anchoring would have allowed for this, as long as the
item had some kind of "mundane triggering method". The new rules for
Anchoring remove this probability entirely.
Quickenings are functions that are self-sustaining (either set of rules), but
they are NOT controllable in a direct sense. Once their effect is
established, it is set for the long term. Think of that "Flaming Sword" and
just exactly where it is you are going to put it after you have that fight
with the Water Elemental. Myself, the idea of having a portable hot-air
balloon came to mind once after I'd been awake for a bit too long......
Anyhows, I think most people can get the idea.
