I see some quirks, for example:

"...Humanis giant..."
"...hobgoblin feathered serpent..."
"...from Mars."
"...koborokuru...from aristocratic Elven stock."

Possible if you really want to stretch things, but a little preposterous.

OTOH, they really do make for entertaining (if a little silly and far
fetched) shadowrunners that a GM can use as NPCs in a flash. It's certainly
better than "he's a lean elf sammy" and "she's a cute Troll mage". Are
you
going to make a stand alone version?

Considering that I'm cobbling this together, yes quirks will come up. I
took out the dragon references, but forgot the feathered serpent. And
some of the combo's don't work well, but I don't want to take all the
flavor out of it.

For a standalone version, save the HTML code to an HTML file on your
machine. Then you can open it locally and it will work with one minor
difference, the "Try again" link doesn't work locally, just hit
refresh/reload in your browser to get a new pair.

I was also thinking this could be used to make "Odd couple" pairings for
some Trideo sitcom. :) If I had more time, I'd work out the kinks. As
it stands, I will probably only fix minor bugs (feathered serpent), and
do more work in a week or so.

I will not imprison members of the same party in the same cell
block, let alone the same cell. If they are important prisoners,
I will keep the only key to the cell door on my person instead
of handing out copies to every bottom-rung guard in the prison.

Are there any humans in the database? Every shadowrunner I generate seems to
be a metahuman, usually a SR Companion metafreak!

Actually the code contains 1 human reference, 1 for each standard meta,
and 1 for each variant. I should probably pepper a few more humans in
the list to have them appear more often.

The artifact which is the source of my power will not be kept on
the Mountain of Despair beyond the River of Fire guarded by the
Dragons of Eternity. It will be in my safe-deposit box. The same
applies to the object which is my one weakness.

According to Iridios, on Wed, 13 Mar 2002 the word on the street was...

Maybe you could do it according to the racial population percentages? You
know, 62 humans, 17 elves, etc. (or whatever the numbers are). The only
problem there is that you probably won't be able to squeeze in the "others"
unless you use really large numbers, but adding an extra bit of code (to
pick something from a special list when "Other" comes up for the race)
should take care of that.

1)I did not write the code. I... erm.. borrowed it and bent it to my
desire. Sometimes bending things causes them to break. :P

2)It's a simple javascript, I know enough about JS to be able to
understand and modify moderately complex scripts. I could probably make
it respond to an "other" entry, but don't have the time or will to do so
at this time.

3)I also don't have the will to type in a hundred plus racial
references. Tonight I will change it to call up the humans and standard
meta's more often, but I won't guaruntee an accurate sampling compared
to the demographics.

4)I'm up for suggestions to include in future versions. Either as whole
new descriptive objects or individual phrases.

If the beautiful princess that I capture says "I'll never marry
you! Never, do you hear me, NEVER!!!", I will say "Oh well" and
kill her.

It'd be a simple "if ()" clause followed by a random roll, wouldn't it?

Understandable -- even when copying & pasting it's a bit of a hassle to do
it that way.

That would also require writing more functions, something I'm not about
to do. However I think I might know a way to accomplish the desired
result. But first I need to test it.

In the mean time I've fixed the race ratio, after a fashion.

If I must have computer systems with publically available
terminals, the maps they display of my complex will have a room
clearly marked as the Main Control Room. That room will be the
Execution Chamber. The actual main control room will be marked
as Sewage Overflow Containment.
