Cheers for the comments on the Adept stuff,
I think that a slight change to a couple of things, should straighten out
the creases....

Nerve Strike - No T-Roberson mention that it should bypass armour.
Erm, it would IMHO be able to pentrait up to 4 points of
Impact armour (that's standard Partial) and before the cry "Git" is given
Blokes in Partial Armour are usual armed to the teeth, so walking up to them
and digging them in the ribs is not the easest of jobs.
It is posible to design armour to protect those nerve points but it takes
someone with the skill or a nerveology (good word eh ?) skill working with
an armourer (has to be at least of Impact 3)

Shattering Blow - make it an Unresisted test for breaking things (Inamimate)
and for breaking people, I'd make it reliant on the Killing Hands skill.
For example,
You'd need to have Killing hands at Moderate to snap hands &feets
Serious - Limbs
Deadly - Necks

This attack would have to be an aimed blow.
Nasty.

And again spit your comments this way, Ta.

Question Time

What is the difference (and what do they do) between Infrared and Ultraviolet
laser sights ? The reason for this question is that one of my accursed players
want to have either/both fittd to his cybereyes. Is that possible ?
I know thermographics "see" in the dark but they aren't very clear on who's who.

For that list ...

After an hour and a half of careful character construction, plot details,
and background on a quiet, shy rigger, the first thing Capt'n Munchkin said
"Who do I get to shoot then ?"
Daaaaaaaaaaa, Why Me ?

"The main use I have for rule books is something to hit player's heads
with" - Me.

"If it ain't fun, then it my job" - Me, again.

To Tyger, if your still out there .....

Actually, here's a better idea, IMO. Instead of buying something special
like Killing Hands, buy armor penetration. Ie, for something like .5 Magic
you can negate the effects of one point of impact armor. It could apply to
both "normal" damage (nerve strikes) and Killing Hands.

Assuming it would be possible (which it is not), how much essence would it
cost to completely replace someone's brain with some sort of
cyber-computer?

How do concentrations and specializations work in SR3 for firearms?

That's it! Wow all I have to do is find a Delta grade clinic that offers
cybermancy and I am set! ;-)

I always thought it'd be fun to build a character out of cyberlimbs and stick
an SK in as the brain.

As far as replacing someone's brain with a cyber-computer, I can't see how
the person would even be themselves anymore. I mean, they can't scan your
brain into a memory core (hence the reason no AIs have been poping up all
over the place....well, except the usual four).

No concentrations anymore. Specializations have become concentrations and
the older specializations have been removed. So, only specializations now,
and they all work with raising the skill one point, and lowering the general
one point. Just like old concentrations.

Oh? :)

Depending on how much credence you give to shadowtalk, that might not
be entirely true anymore. The shadowtalk on the profile of Global
Technologies in the Corporate Sector chapter of New Seattle (p.85)
mentions that "Global is also working on techniques for "neural
mapping" that will allow them to effectively copy someone's
personality, memories and skills onto a chip".

But would such a copy possess the ability to evaluate and consider new data
like the Flatline in Neuromancer, or would it be just like the personafixes
in Dreamchipper. (Also made by Global and which I figured the shadowtalk was
referring to.)
