Okay, here's a new question for you all to enjoy.

I was wondering if I had acchieved a record, point is: I have a
character which I created about a year and a half ago, since the
time of creation this character has died of unnatural causes FIVE
times, and he's still walking around (who says Fate sucks?).

number of times dead: 5
causes of death, in no particular order:

-critter power attack
-dragon burning
-bug attack
-gang shoot out in small hallway
-force ten spirit summoning at magic rating 6.

anyone care to best me at this, or should I consider the record
mine? ;-)

I am betting my Physad would be a good runner aginst that.- Team
running aginst on extraction.. 2 6rd bursts from ingram to chest.
- True form warrior ant. <no foci for me at this point.>
- Sniper one shot to chest.

That is all for now. sigh.

How do you define dead? I get the sense our
definitions might differ...none of my dead characters are
still walking around...(except maybe that ghoul initiate!!
Mwahahaha!!! :)

If you mean "have taken deadly wounds and recovered,"
then you've beaten my PCs out. If you mean "have taken
damage beyond their overflow boxes and been brought
back to life by a miracle (read: brow-beaten GM)", then
you still win.

According to Kevin Langevin, at 14:09 on 20 Apr 99, the word on
the street was...

> Ummmm...and so how are you walking around if you've died?

Medkits, Treat spells, and DocWagon contracts. What Callisto was saying is
that Angel has so far taken a Deadly wound five times, and has been
revived five times as well. Currently he's in a DocWagon clinic after a
run-in with a flesh-form insect spirit when he'd already taken a Serious
wound. What he forgot to mention is that this "death" was within 45
minutes of the one before (a shootout, that left him with the Serious)...

And no, the GM isn't out to kill as many PCs as possible :)

That would have to be Jett...

--eviscerated and nearly died of blood loss (way overdamage: 2 months in
a coma)
--Shot in the back with a shotgun at close range
--Shot in the chest with a shotgun at point blank range
--torn to shreds by ghost-birds
--slashed to death with barbed monowire
--stabbed through a lot of vital things by a guy with a big-ass scythe
and a bad attitude

There's more, actually, but those are the major ones I remember...of
course, she tends to come back from the absolute limit of death (her
body actually got healed from lots of little tiny pieces, none of which
bigger than a finger or toe) by way of a NASTY astral quest... House
rules are nice. :) But except for the ghost-birds, all were mundane
damage that put her overdamage and she survived. :)
Next in line would have to be Snookums. He's survived seven major plane
crashes to date. Kamikaze missions. :)

Well, thats an interesting question, but a more interesting one:

Does anybody have a SR character who died ONCE of NATURAL causes?

Mongoose

P.S - Is essence lost as a vampiric pawn is a natural cause?

I don't know a bullet through the brain seems like a quite natural cause
of death.

Depends on what you call natural and what you call a runner. I had a
runner that reached his main goal in life so I retired him. I guess you
could say that he died of natural causes.

I also had a runner that died by falling off a mountain. Is that natural?

Sure, being shot through the head, eaten alive by insect spirits,
killed (fireballed) by teammates and blown to bits because your
grenades exploded to close to you, all count as natural causes for a
shadowrunner:)

This goes back to quote from a book whose title escapes me.

How did the character get the brain tumor? Was it naturally occuring, or was it
an act by someone else?
