Anyone know the status of this book? Yes, I know it's due out this month,
and this month is only half over. Should I be camping at my local bookstore?

PS: Anyone want stats for the Chevrolet Avalanche 2060 style, please let me
know, I just cooked some up for a game I'm running.

It's due "late this month" assuming that the printer doesn't choke on it
somehow.

Just got a call that my local hobby shop has it in stock, so now I have to
find a way to get down there and get it...although it looks like that won't
be until Friday. Mrrf.

for those in the UK (or in mailable distance) Leisure Games
(http://www.leisuregames.com) has it in stock. They notified me of this
yesterday, but I selfishly waited until I had ordered a copy before
telling the list...:-) So I'll be getting mine tomorrow!

for those that already have it (theres some postings on the dumpshock
forums already) what do you think?

I'm sure most of you have already commented on this,
but I've just finished reading it and I wanted to have
my say.

So what do I think? I found it to be, frankly, quite
disappointing.

Why?

Well, because it wasn't SCARY. Not like the first one.
In Threats we had things like Winternight and the
Black Lodge - things that TOTALLY creeped me out.
Human Nation was pure evil. Halberstam's Babies was
sickeningly icky. And so on and so forth. The book
gave me shivers while I was reading it. Apart from the
UB sourcebook, it was the scariest thing I'd ever read
in Shadowrun. GREAT book.

Here we had imps, drakes, guys with money and a plot
to reestablish the freakin' USA! I mean, sure, there
are certainly some useful, possibly even great,
adventure ideas there, but nothing to live up to the
name of Threats. The closest I came to being scared
was when reading The Network (kudos to Jason Levine).
Can You See the Real Me? and Dissonant Voices were
reasonably creepy. And I have to admit, Those Who Have
the Gold... was pretty amusing. But, really, this
should have been called something else. This was NOT a
Threats book, not like the first one.

Sorry, guys, but that's how I feel, which is not to
knock the writing. I really did like a lot of the
stuff in there, and a lot of it was interesting, too.
But except for The Network, it wasn't Threats material.
