I just thought, that since we had so recently been talking about magic
and decks, and magic decks, and all that, that I would tell you of one
of the MANY Munchkins that were in my original SR group (the one that
causes my friends to still call me Munchkin!:(

Thud the Decker: (stolen from Austin's character sheet)
He was an ungodly decker. We called him thud because he did to the
Matrix what his Troll Sammi (Thud) did to the real world. We worked out
a FEW screws for him. Stuff like the following:
The Magic Deck: We had one of our THREE mages (out of 6 people: 2 mages,
1 shaman, 1 Physad, one decker, and me as rigger) cast ANAYLYZE device
on the deck, burned several elementals, and wound up getting 19 success-
es (BTW: this was *before* Grimoire even came out!). He spell locked it
and Thud now had a hacking pool somewhere in the 40s to 50s, and his
effective skill (and therefore the # of dice he used to download stuff)
was a 25+ ! Red-12? So what? But I *might* have to burn a couple
points of Karma for it. *sigh*

Tell me, does THIS qualify as munchkin? If so, and if enough other
people are interested, I'll try to remember some of the other screws
that our group had, some of the screws that I postulated, and some of
the screws that my semi-current group had come up with (and BOY are they
gross! Remember my 19 dice control pool? stuff like that).
If it was illegal, by 1st and 2nd printing rules, no grimoire rules,
then let me know. But I believe that that's how they did it. Thanx

Yes, this qualifies as Munchkin.

Shadowrun characters are *supposed* to be powerful, superhuman heroes
(or anti-heroes as you will). Thud is just gross.

I seem to recall someone mentioning having computer as a totem.
This in itself should explain the problems that I have with that. It is the
exact type of advantage that haveing a spell that will actually manipulate
technology would give to a shaman that had computer as his totem.
I don't mean to harp on this, but when that was brought up the only two
things that popped in my mind were the Free spirit that could drive Brodie's
car better than he could and Thud the decker. That was just too much and I
wanted to point out that there is a trap inherent in these particular totems
in which I would not like to find myself, as a Gm, caught.
