Two things. First, I have never seen a THWAP as awesome as the one
bestowed upon my friend the GREAT Cornholio by the esteemed Herr Doom.
Wunderbar mein Herr!! Sehr lustig!!

Second, I don't know how it happened, but now I know how Steel Lynx felt
on FoF when he got his name stolen. In Prime Runners, which came out
last week (pretty cool actually, although most of the runners are wimps
by our groups standards), there is comment about Kaminsky, the fixer I
believe it is. And guess who makes the first comment? A fellow by the
name of Whistler. No "the", but even still. I can't say I'm happy about
that, but at least the guy didn't make an idiot of himself.

Don't feel too bad, my decker's name is Buzz and in NAGRL there is a security
expert named Buzz.

Erik, you think that's bad? Harlequin (my char.) was made sortly
oops shortly after the release of the Hard bound blue book SR.
I named him Harlequin because that was my 'stage hand' name in
my high school theater dept. I mean, I was having a ball being
a decker/samurai and then the module came out. Here's this all
powerful elf named Harlequin. *sigh* I just about pulled my hair
out, and almost did the same, later, when the GM took us through
the module. He thought it'd be funny for the two Harlequin's to
meet. *sigh* This is the same one who stuck Gossymer on me.
At least I have someone to aspire to (fat chance of actually doing it).

About: Discussion of Name Stealing

Hahaha! Don't get so damn pissed. Hell, there's only so many "cool"
names running around out there. I'm just waiting for Aria to show up. I
think Spellslinger will be safe for a while. Just remember-- a name is
just a label. What is truly memorable is how you play your character.

HA, nobody is safe. Spellslinger is bound to be used by FASA someday.
I looked for a fancy name in my Greek/Latin-encyclopedia because a
English or Gaelic name would surely be used. I choose Lachesis
(anyone who has read the book knows what happened to her) because I
thought it was a "save" name, fat chance of that!

Greetings

They did! Fasa did steal my name! In one of their novels (I forgot
which) a decker named Lachesis met an untimely end (glup).
By the way if their called a GUY Lachesis in Loom they made a big
mistake: Lachesis is a female Greek Deity (one of the revenge-types)

Lachesis was/is more than a deity, she was one of the 3 fates.
The 3 fates where considered to be the highest force in the universe,
even Zeus himself was subjecect to their wims.
And yes, could it be that the novel the decker apears in is Nights
Pawn ? She was sort of a replacement cause the 'heroes' contact was
too busy or something.

BTW I got HArlequin II yesterday and couldnt resist re-reading
the short story. Did anyone out there that there is something missing?
Namely the part where Harlequin sez to his aprentice 'get out your
files...we need some heroes...er I mean Shadowrunners...'?

Um, no. Lachesis and her sisters Clotho and Atropos are the Fates. You're
thinking of the Furies, who are three other sisters.

She was a replacement for Lucifer.. Not because he was too
busy, but because he was too dead.. :)

Whoah! I could _swear_ that the names of the other two big
characters (master weavers) in Loom were Atropos and Clothos! I dunno
why the hell LucasArts picked those; the only female in the game, if I
remember correctly, is Dame Hetchel. Hmm... Well, sorry to waste your
time! I'm outta' heeeere.

Yes, and she is sister to Atropos and Clotho. As a trio they are
the Greek version of the "fates."

Marc (see, I learned somethin' from Five Star Stories after all...)
