Alright, this is NOT a flame . . .

---

Everyone take a deep breath . . .
. . . let it out.

Take another deep breath . . .
. . . let it out.

I think we've all lost sight of the original meanings ot the 'Thwap' and
the term munchkin.

I coined 'thwap' back in October. A 'thwap' is given to a person who
makes a proposal so rediculously stupid as to me laughable . . . . sort of
like a Naked Gun movie sort of zany, stupid silly humor. Thwaps are not
given in anger and to do so perverts their enjoyable, friendly intent.

Munchkins, a term coined years ago and light-years away over on the ADND-L
Dungeons and Dragons list. A munchkin is a person who perverts the rules
to their advantage. Munchkins are usually bad. Munchkinism _IS_NOT_
simply making a suggestion out of the ordinary, nor is it advocating a
position that isn't necessarily spelled out in the rules.

----

As of late, this list has turned rather ugly. Thwaps given for the
slightest reason. And awful accusations of munchkinism because people
propose ideas that are different. I'm not going to accuse anyone of this
behavior (but if you think I'm talking about you, I probably am).

Please, everyone, let's try to be a little more friendly and happer here.
All of the strange and different ideas that have been presented, from my
Pixie race to the Buzz spell are in and of themselves perfectly valid
additions to the shadowrun universe. _IF_ *you* don't like them, you are
more than welcome to NOT use them, but to resort to namecalling and
downright meanness is reprehensible.

I'm not going to stoop to posting guidelines for discussion, because that
is just stupid, but I am going to ask that everyone try to remember that
with 200 people on the list, there are 200 different universes, and just
because a proposal is not valid for yours doesn't mean it is not valid
for another's.

Now, when someone makes a proposal, you are perfectly welcome to disagree
with it. You are welcome to point out area where you think it violates
the basic premise of the Shadowrun universe, where it is unbalanced, or
where you have a problem with it. But stooping to namecalling is just
plain poor taste.

-----

Alright, end of speech. Everyone stop being so violent, or I'll have ta
hurt ya. *grin*

Random Thought:

Hey, Roger, does... on, on this, you know, if I'm gonna, if I, if I
decide on my gesture over there... is that all right?... You don't mind?
