Demonseed Elite's got something on Tibet. IIRC in Brainscan, the part he
wrote on collecting Aneki was meant to take place actually in Tibet, not
just some courtyard in Hong Kong- got cut for space I think, so he'd have to
have a pretty good idea about Tibet in general.

Last I heard though, it wasn't canon but Mike M. liked it. You could try
asking him really nicely for some stuff but I think he was planning to
submit it for Target: Awakened Lands, which is planned for 2002. Which means
he'll probably not be wanting to let too much out of the bag till then.

Actually, last I knew the Brainscan material was written by Stephen Kenson,
not J. Levine (DE).

That was from DE's own mentioning of it on the DSForums here recently (?).

I apologize if I am putting my foot in my mouth, as I have not been
following the entire thread.

This isn't official SR material, but I thought it might be interesting
nonetheless. If you've been following the story concerning HavenCo, a
data-haven in the process of being put together off the western shore of
England IRL, they will be hosting the exiled presence of the Tibetan
government.

How fun is *that* for a SR extrapolation: Tibet as we know is subsumed by
China, and continues its existence as a virtual democracy from a sovereign
data haven in the Matrix.

Again, not canon, but a fun idea anyway.

Atis

Pfft! Since when has having no knowledge ever stopped anyone with a modem

What we do know of Tibet is that it was closed off from the world very early
in the Awakening. Now, assuming the current Dalai Lama lives between 20 and
40 years longer (I don't know how old he is now), it is certain that he will
reincarnate within Tibet.
Of course, this is assuming Tibet in 206* is the way it is because of the
Lamas. As long as it isn't frigging elves or dragons again. Actually, trolls
would work well as a major proportion of the population, since they express
more in mountainous regions.

2002? Man! I want my Australia sourcebook! I thought it was due later this
year. I'm a sobbing mess now.
I don't think I've ever seen Brainscan. Could I get more information please?

Considering the current schedule and pace, Simon, my gut tells me that we're
looking at the early part of 2001, *maybe* the end of this year. We've got
to get YOTC out the door first, which means that we've got to get MATRIX
released and TARGET: MATRIX proofed and to the printers first.

NeoJ, you were right. If anyone's still interested, follow the link below to
read the original version- as opposed to the demented ramblings from the
swiss cheese-like thing I call a memory. Enjoy.
