]3) Let's set up some guidelines for what can be accepted. And NO MUNCHKINISM!
]I've seen enough of it on this list (no offense to those of you who don't) to
]know that we're bound to get some of it.... it's like the Voodoo thing in
]Challenge: Just DON'T allow it. Let's keep this thing so that it won't
]unbalance the game too much, 'kay?

Considering the sheer amount of good stuff that has gone by on this list,
ignoring the Challenge Robots, Vampyres, Voodoo, and the Screwdoo from the
list, (well, hell, I guess I could go on listing forever. . . )

At any rate, I'm sure that those of us who have been around this list for
awhile have our stores of secreted knowledge that we have developed over our
playtesting years.

One question, having nothing whatsoever to do with the above topic:
Hayden, is the fact that you don't own but a very few SR books a sign of
the lack of monetary vicissitude, the lack of interest, the lack of ability to
walk down to your local bookstore and "peek between the sheets," or an
unquenchable desire to "wing it?" Just wondering.

There's be A LOT of stuff on this list, but none of it has really been
collected together into one group or anything, which is really what this
is trying to do, we'll just wrap it up in the neat little "2nd Awakening"
package to make it seem timely.

Mostly money. Grad school is kinda 'spensive so I hold off getting a book
untill I REALLY need it. Next book is Grimy II, and then NAGRL. Usually
when I'm playing, somone else has the other books to mke up for what I
don't have.

Also, the only bookstore of any consequence I know of in this town ONLY
carries TSR stuff. There is not many things more unsightly than a wall of
Dungeons and Dragons stuff.

I have a question.

Why the ban on tech items? I find that these are one of the things I
enjoy extrapolating on the most. The articles about LAVTs, wage slaves in
the matrix, and new items are ones that I read most avidly. I believe
that these should also be included. Granted it would not be specifically
abouyt the second awakening but I would like to see more information on a
variety of topics than alot of info on just a few.

If you don't want to include this stuff in this book then we could compile
a companion volume: _The Sharper Image catalog of 2054_ or some such.

Comments?

Mostly because techy stuff doesn't have anything to do specifically with
the second awakening.

That's on my list of stuff hanging on my cork board that I wrote up on my
'extended agenda'. Right after the Tome, then we work on the tech manual.
Probably by the time we finish the tech manual, it will be time to do
another magic manual.

Does that answer your questions?

Actually, if I remember correctly, someone *has* done a bit
of arciving. Didn't progers@****** do some kind of archiving
thing that may prove useful. I think if I submit that
Beastmaster again people will shoot me...

Maybe ya should do what I do. As I grad student (like yourself),
I have learned, after being required to read upto 5000 pgs a week
for a class, one magic word... XEROX!

I have borrowed the books, and copied the important info while
"forgetting" the insignificant stuff (ie the story in the back
of Virtual Reality was interesting, but not worth keeping long
term).

Well gee Rob, drop me a line and I will get you the stuff as long
as yer good for the $$$ (ie I will mail you the book, and you mail
me the cash). :)
