Yeah, but it takes all the fun out of it. ]:-)
On a more serious note. How about Emailing an automated "personal
note from the listserv administrator" to the newbie (I know there's a
confirmation Email, but who reads those anyway?) so they'll have a better
chance of understanding. Which is, of course, supposed to be the whole
reason communication exits: To increase understandning.
