??? Usually it's the other way around, isn't it? (Although knowing the
British, I wouldn't be surprised if they counted up instead of down :)

Checking a handy little booklet called The British Army -- A Pocket Guide,
that also says a Lieutenant (2 stars) outranks a 2nd Lieutenant (1 star)
in the British Army.

And he calls himself a part-time soldier... ;)
