Anything can be possible, I just had a group wander off with the
'Ferry' out of the NAN2 adventure as salvage, yep 8,890 ton ship,
they had a reasonable claim it was out of control.
[more at the bottom on this as details are potentially spoliers,
though its a very old adventure now]

They were
considering getting a decker to just change the ownership but decided
they could do it legally. :), Lets just say one's after a Fairlight
Excalibur, and could buy it off the shelf with his own share! I'm
sure however the money will get spent, i see several million in
lifestyles comming up and the beta grade shadowclinic visiting should
do the coffers no good at all :)

Ok they did well, but they have now attracted attention in some
circles, (to put things very mildly, the shadows will find out), and
well they don't know exactly what the GM's planning next he he he.

They had gotten to the ferry before the second wave of terrorists,
took control and found the dead crew+ passengers, so there was no
crew and they could reasonably claim they had nothing to do with it,
and as they had 4 terrorists to check on the intended course (crash
ferry) [someone lobbed neuostun in the engine room and shut the door
again - oops :) ] backup. Then well we never rolled dice for the
second terrorist wave, you see small boats vs PC's hanging over the
side of a ferry with a panther cannon, AVM's, rocket launchers and a
Great Dragon, well!, any one would have done the job.
