and attributes?

'bout as long as it takes to erase the old values [skill/attribute/good
karma] and write in the new values (p.2, Neo-Anarchists Guide to Munchkins)

The law of annoyance strikes again.

Just as soon as we start talking about something, Some guy comes and
asks about that stuff.

(Man, did this guy come on JUST to ask us these questions when we were
thinking about making a new-Gm FAQ?)

I just read a good text on that at Linga Naughton's Home Page.
Perhaps needs a little bit of reworking, but you'll easily fix it the way
you want it. I'm not sure of the URL adress, but you can get there through
Paolo's site, in the Links subdirectory.

That is:

Hope it helps.

Shadowland issue 2 has an article by Linda Naughton on Learning and
Improving Skills, but it also covers Attributes.

Yes, somewhere in the world there is this *one* guy that's coming

Ok these are our houserules.

Skills you cannot push up skills unless
a) A minimum of the number of weeks have passed equal to
twice your current skill since you last pushed up the
skill.
b) You recieve training from a character with a skill equal
or higher than the rating you want to go to.
c) If the skill is self learnt double the minimum time, else
spend new skill rating in weeks learning

ie Johnny has firearms at 4. He wants to push it up to 5. As he
psuhed his skill up about 6 months ago he does not have to wait.
Grabbing an individual with skill 8, he gets trained in 5 weeks.

Optional rule: If the training character (ie the one with the
higher skill) has the skill 'Training' he rolls it against T# of the
skill that the trainee is learning -1 for every 4pt of appropriate
attribute the trainee has. Divide the time by successes.

For physical attributes it is months of new attribute level in hard
training (usually also cost nuyen). For mental stats double the time.

My 2 cents (Now valued at about $0.0004)

Hi Mike!
Well I'd check out Shadowland Volume 2. It has rules regarding that stuff.

I want to say thank you to everyone who who posted stuff about learning
and training. The article in Shadowland issue 2 was what I was looking
for. Again Thanks.
