Question? A mage has a Trauma Damper (Shadowtech). This mage
is astrally projecting and takes damage. Does the Trauma Damper still
have its usuall effect.

Yes. All damage is (in its final manifestation) physical.

Due to the phenomenom of repercussion (pg 147 SRII), any damage inflicted on
the astral form will simultaneously be inflicted on the physical form, and
vice-versa. Likewise, any damage healed on the astral form will
simultaneously be healed on the physical form, and vice-versa. So the Trauma
Damper will effectively "heal" a box of damage on the physical form, which
will also occur on the astral form due to repercussion. If the damage
"healed" was physical, then a box of stun will be created on the physical
form, which will also occur to the astral form, again due to repercussion.
So the Trauma Damper will have the exact same effects if the damage is from
an astral source as if it is from a physical source.
