From a purely copyright-related viewpoint, they are correct in
everything they said. However, besides the obvious fact that
role-playing games don't work like that, there is the even _more_ obvious
fact that the 'net doesn't work like that.
I decided a while ago not to buy any more _new_ AD&D products,
though there are a few first edition rulebooks I'd grab if they were
cheap and I had the money (which doesn't happen often) simply because
I've enjoyed playing the game in the past.
Unfortunately, as manager of the CapAccess Role-Playing
Information Area, this puts me in an extremely sticky situation: I need
to figure out exactly how seriously to take their threats. I think what
I may do is use extremely linear thinking: I did not receive the original
message from <tsrinc@***.com> at either this address or either of my
CapAccess addresses, and neither did the AD&D area manager on Cap. So,
there is enough of a chance that one of the two or three people in the
forwarding chain forged or edited the message that I'm going to ignore it
until I get further information.
What do y'all think? Please reply privately so as to keep
everything Shadowrun relevant on the list.
