Some of my players always try to outwit me (I'm GMing). And so they
often find some rules i didn't found. In the last days one of the nastier
came out with a new interpration of the skillwire rules.
Don't twap me for the uncorrect figures but i just trying to explain his
side of view.
Skillwire level cost essnece cost
1-3 10.000/level .3/level
4-6 20.000/level .5/level
7-9 50.000/level .6/level

I said Skillwire level 5 cost : 100.000 and 2.5 essence.
But he said

I said Skillwire level 5 cost : 70.000 and 1.9 essence.
'cause skill wire 5 is two level costing 40.000 and 1.0 essence
plus the first three levels costing 30.000 and .9 essence

I dismissed this silly idea 'cause shadowrun is a dark world and the players
are no heros (always round down ==> hold them down until the choke then
release a bit and press aggain). But i wanted to now what others GM do.
Or does anybody of you know what the folks from fasa intended.

Your player is full of it. You do not charge each level separately. Basically,
there's such a big jump in power between those three categories that they
are not linear at all; it's like comparing a PC to a VAX to a Cray. So tell
him to save his Nuyen and spend the cash if he really wants it.

BTW, for all those out there who may be slightly confused (I doubt there are
many) T=D in the German damage code, because that's the initial for their
equivalent of various "dead: words.

Just a side note:

How many people think that Billy Idol's pitiful idea of what cyberpunk is
should never EVER be seen, repeated, or heard on this net. Idol discovered
Gibson's work last year and was so enraptured by this "new" idea that he wrote
an album in which he blatantly ripped of several of Gibson's ideas or contribu-
tions(i.e., the song "neuromancer"). I also had the "privilige" of
viewing the
"multi-media" disk that he sent out to out radio station. I have never been s
o bored. All it was was a pitiful little ad for his album, with crappy loops
and bad pictures and thank yous. HOOPTY DOO!!!!!!!!!!

JUST SAY NO TO POSEURS!!!!!

-Warlok

P.S. Sorry, but when someone posted that idiot's speal at the end of their mess
age, my proverbial pot boiled over. Nothing against the poster, just Idol.

Actually, I enjoy Billy Idol and think of the many 'mainstream' musical
artists does a good job of at least capturing SOME of the cyberpunk feel.

I just wish he could be original. _Vital_Idol_ has some good songs that
capture the essence of cyberpunkish music, unfortunately it don't last
long :(

C'mon, chummer, you're God in the game. Don't let the players
walk all over you. You're allowed to make up the rules as you go along,
if you want, so long as you try to be fair. But if you have a player
being UNfair, go ahead and be unfair back!
(Just my opinion, so if anybody flames me for it they need to learn
how to get along with people.)

ON THE CONTRARY i will not flame you but praise your point of view.
although fairness must always remain the watchword - the second things
start turning int a great puppet show with the gm pulling ALL the strings
the rest of the gamers can go home because they aren't really playing any
