Just a quick note to find out if there is a deadline set for the submission
of artwork for the T-shirt. If it was already posted I missed it. My
e-mail client has been buggy all week.

Granite has asked everyone to vote on a basic idea. The deadline for ideas
has passed. A deadline for art has not been set yet.

So, what I think will happen, is that the basic idea will be settled on and
then everyone who can will submit art for that idea.

At least I think that's Granite's goal :)

However, that may not be the way it works out.

Last year we semi-settled on working something around the quote, "Watch
your back. Shoot straight. Conserv ammo. And never, ever, cut a deal
with a dragon." However, Mongoose submitted a piece of abstract art that
rocked and it won.

I don't think this will work. Let the artist's among us be creative,
and submit whatever they are willing to. And then we will vote on
that. Telling someone what they have to draw doesn't sit well with
me.

And that's my point. Creativity sometimes sparks spontaneously. Let
it flow. I don't like the idea of defining it. If I could draw, I'd
submit something. I sure wouldn't like to have to draw someone else's
idea. You version of what they asked for would seldom be what they
saw in their own mind's eye.
