Hmmm... Ya know, I'm rather suprised to see you bashing a newbie, MC...
Especially seeing how you were flamed pretty hard early on for a couple
idiotic posts that you made when you first joined...
TSH has just as much right to be here as you do... There's no need to bash
him publicly, or to harass any listmember. If you have a beef with
someone, take it privately. We don't need to see your squabble...
Also, TSH is NOT a Bot... He's as much a Bot as I am (despite the joke
running on the list currently:))... He just doesn't know much about SR or
about RPG's in general. IIRC, he signed up for the list thinking it was
for the SR Video game, as he'd never heard of SR anywhere else. Also,
other than video games, his only RPG experience seemed to have been AD&D,
and that was severely limited.
I get the feeling (Not confirmed, however.) that he's only a kid. I'd be
real surprised if he was still on the list, after the abuse he's taken from
you, MC...
Most of the gaming I get to do anymore is at a Community College's Gamer's
Guild, and we have a fairly large "core" group that plays teh various games
taht we do, SR included. We have, in this group, three kids under 16 years
old, and one that's only 12. These kids started playing Magic: the
Gathering a couple years ago, and me and Tinner have weened them from Card
games to RPG's during that time. Granted, they're still mostly Minchkin's,
but we call them munchkin's in reform, as they usually at least make an
effort to roleplay. hell, they're just kids... Most of us were munchies
when we first started. After all, power is what drew most of us to the
game... Being able to be so much more powerful than we were in RL.
Think of it like this... Someone along the line probably took the time to
help you out. I know they did for me. I actualy got turned on to RPG's
thru my 6th grade teacher, who took the time to explain the game to a bunch
of 11 years olds with no clue.
If we don't teach the kids, and help them out, and encourage them, how are
tehy supposed to learn? And if you criticize and flame them at every turn,
they're going to go back to playing video games and carxd games, and our
Hobbie loses another person. And that's simply a shame.
I know the kids get annoying. There has been more than one time that I
wanted to tell the kids in our group to go back to playing cards or
something, but I'd never do that. You put up with it, and you try to teach
them the right way to do something...

And that's why I never killfiled you, MC...:] I figured give you a
chance... and you seem to have turned out ok, except when you're posting
drivel like this that flames the newbies and the kids...
Ah well... that's my little rant for the night...
