There is this other theory that the manaline is just
an excuse for what it is a war for natural resources
and political vendetta. Tsimshian is running out of
them and the SSC has lots of them, so they make a go
for it. Meanwhile, the Salish and the NAN (especially
the Sioux), see this as an opportunity to clean up
house in Tsimshian. The use of WMD (by parties unkown)
ensures that the conflict becomes a blood feud.

Except that the Sovereign Tribal Council has basically refused to condemn the Tsimshian
actions or send troops/resources to help the Salish. So there's been rumblings in the
Salish Shidhe Council of "Well what's the point of being part of the whole thing then
if they don't do anything?".
