I've been plowing through CyberPirates, and just started on the section on
the Phillipines. Right after Masaru's "hi-diddly-ho there", Tomtom says,
"Cool. Two eastern great dragons at war."

Eh?

Who's the other eastern great dragon? The only one I know of is Ryumyo,
and IIRC he's the one behind the ALOHA organization in Hawai'i. I don't
know squat about Japan in SR, though, so if there's a dragon in charge of
Japan, I don't know about it. Anyone?

Ryumyo IS the Yakuza- or at least in Japan. Why do think he hasn't
gotten out much since his first appearance? :)
I believe this info is in the Underworld Sourcebook.

Then do I have the name of the great dragon in that Hawai'i adventure
(Paradise Lost?) mixed up? I thought that was Ryumyo who was the brains
behind it all, and the dragon you kill at the end was working for him...

MINOR BITB SPOILER!!
!
!
!

It's detailed (kind of) in BitB, as well as a bit about Lung. (The
dragon). It's given in a Lone Gunman format, so GM's don't have to
agree with it.

Ryumyo is the Great Eastern Dragon in Japan; Lung is the one in China.

I'm not sure, to be honest. It is possible. Dragons are renown for
having fingers in many different pies.
IIRC, Ryumyo did want to do something to interfere with Hawai'i so
that he could own the whole Pacific Rim. Backing ALOHA may be just the
thing. Japan, The Phillipines, Hawai'i, CFS(which has a huge slice of
Yaks in it already), yep... sounds to me like he is vying for control of
the PacRim.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was Ryumyo that was the dragon that was backing
the "lesser" dragon and ALOHA (now *that* was a cool terrorist name!). But
that was supposed to be GM only knowledge and I don't was ever supposed to
become player or public knowledge (in game).

Between Ryumyo the Japanese dragon, Lung the Chinese Dragon, and that
Phillipino dragon from Cyberpirates, all with active and differing agendas,
there's certainly a lot going on that a GM could take advantage of *IF*
they wanted to. Then factor in that CalFree female dragon...

Don't like dragons, you don't have to use any of that. But if you *do*
like dragons, the PacRim is the place to be!

snipped stuff about Masaru and Ryumyo...

Yep, you got it right. Ryumyo is behind Aloha, but he's not -from- Hawaii.
He's from Japan...at least, that is where he showed up first at.
