I think he was talking about "Awakenings" (formerly the Neo-Anarchist's
Guide to the Awakening). According to a report from GenCon:

Awakenings (formerly the Neo-Anarchists Guide to the Awakening) - Magic in
2057. The analogy they made was that Awakenings is to the Grimoire as
Cybertechnology was to the Street Samauri Catalog. There is a lot of new
toys in there, as well as some things in there to help with the power
curve mages have. There'll be new styles of magic (i.e. voodoo shamans),
new spells, at least 16 new adept abilities, and some nasty stuff for
mages, like "focus addiction" (whatever the heck that is).


And I've had a tandem decker team set of NPCs. They were called
"Gestalt" and were identical twins. They finished each others sentences
like Laz and Lor from "Time Enough For Love" and had a special cyberdeck
they had cobbled together so they could share a matrix icon. Their
brains were enough in sync to do that. Most folks couldn't.

Focus addiction is something just about nobody has to worry about, if you
ask me... It can only happen if you use foci with a higher total rating
than your Magic rating, in which case you get to make a Magic test, TN =
total foci rating. No successes means you recieve a geas that says you
must use a focus relevant to the magical skill being used else there's a
+2 TN modifier.

NAGTMagic I think) the voodoo priest they have are again much different
from the ones that were seen in White Wolf magazine. I think these are
cooler (but don't know excactly anymore how the WW ones were).
